Messages since:

Set this option to avoid downloading older messages. It accelerates the download process and is most beneficial with your PDA and other mobile devices.
'Unlimited' is not 'instantaneous'. The Google/Gmail collection bot and other applications may need several cycles to download all older messages. This behaviour is by design.

Sent messages:

Save a copy of outgoing messages in the Sent Items folder
A copy of your outgoing mail will be a placed in the server's Sent Items folder.

New messages:

Use this option primarily with PDAs and Smartphones.
Only the most recent unread messages will be downloaded. Also, when you delete a message from the PDA, it will only be marked as read and not really deleted. This option greatly reduces download times and storage requirements on your handheld device.

New messages normally arrive in the Inbox; if some of your valid mail gets filtered into the spam folder, you may want to include that folder in the download list.

This option can be used in many ways, for example, if you have custom rules on incoming messages or archived older mail into custom folders and want to download them now.

Folder marker:

  • Subject is the natural first choice. The folder name is prepended to the original subject line, the effect is immediately visible.
  • To may require you to customize some view options in your email application to become visible.
  • Sender is intended for more advanced users and facilitates automatic rule processing.
  • X-IzyMail-Folder is a custom mail header, invisibly added to all messages. The least intrusive option for advanced use.

Messages from folders will be marked with the folder name. This helps you and your application to recognize these messages. Many applications supports automated rules to re-sort your messages into personal folders.

The Sender and X-IzyMail-Folder options have the least side effects when forwarding and replying.

Sender ID:

Apply Sender ID technology to your outgoing messages
Outgoing mail will be amended with Sender ID information (in the invisible message headers) to comply with the latest Internet standards. The body text remains untouched. It is strongly recommended to use this option.
Important: When Sender ID is turned off, email is more likely to be treated as junk mail or silently discarded at the receiving site.
